Meet the Team
The team behind Interpreting Matters is a mother daughter partnership that consists of trained and experienced office/accounts manager Kathy Skinner and NRCPD Registered Qualified RBSLI interpreter Karen Green. Together with their experience of both the interpreting field and administration processes they make a complimenting partnership that strives to supply a high standard of service to all customers.
Karen Green
Director
Karen is one of the directors of Interpreting Matters, graduating from Bristol University Deaf Studies in 1994. She set up Interpreting Matters in 2001, building a company with quality and service at the forefront, not profit. Enjoys running and swimming and has completed two half marathons!
Kathy Skinner
Director
Kathy is also a director of Interpreting Matters and mum to Karen. Kathy's office management background together with Karen's interpreting knowledge make for the perfect mum and daughter duo. Kathy enjoys gardening and spending time at their beach hut watching the world go by.
Janice Brooks
Senior Bookings Coordinator
Janice has worked for Interpreting Matters since 2017 and thoroughly loves her job! When she first joined it was a team of three, her role has grown as has the company. Enjoys time with the family and going for walks with her two black Labradors.
Kayleigh
Bookkeeper
Kayleigh has worked in finance for 16 years. Kayleigh enjoys Roller Skating, Cycling, Kayaking, Sewing & Reading. Her dream is to travel America and Canada in a Winnebago.
Laura
Admin Assistant
Laura is originally from London and has worked for Interpreting Matters since 2020. Her favourite place in the world is a Greek island called Alonissos.
Sally
Admin Assistant
Sally has worked for Interpreting Matters since 2020 as an admin assistant on the bookkeeping side. Sally loves living by the sea and enjoys photography, walking and hiking.
Lisa
Booking Coordinator
Lisa is profoundly deaf so understands clients struggles first-hand. Working alongside Janice, Lisa is proud to be part of the Interpreting Matters team. Also enjoys paddleboarding and making suncatchers.
David
Sales & Community Relations
David is the newest memeber of the Interpreting Matters Team. And as a deaf native BSL user understands the need for accesibility. Loves to read, run and swim in the sea.
Carolyn
Bookkeeper
Carolyn has worked for Interpreting Matters as a part time bookkeeper since October 2022. And when not working enjoys excercise, favouting Body Combat, Body Attack and Big Rig.
